The Projectionist (formerly Lord Matzigkeitus) is a project of pure Hellthundering black metal. Invoking spellcasting through isolation, and darkness.

Ever since laying the foundation of THE PROJECTIONIST in 2015, Lörd Matzigkeitus (Diabolus Amator, The Black Sorcery, Thy Sepulchral Moon, ex-Idolatry) and his tenebrous army have pushed the boundaries of black metal cult. Each release morphing to a new direction from its previous sonic hellscape under the cloak of his arcane, twisting and evolving voice.

The vicious, cryptic NightHag covets what magics she knows him to possess. She will summon all the forces of hell to steal them from him and slaughter all he holds dear...”

Explore a masterpiece of subversive, haunting orchestrations, laid to waste by a building fury of raw black metal from the coldest reaches of the North. Told in the manner of a Shakespearean play with guest vocals from Caeser Tiberius (Ides of Winter), the arcane Aven Haunts and a funeral choir.

"Herbstwind" by Ka-tet

Black Metal/Dark Metal, Germany.

Released 28 October 2018

Herbstwind is the only debut album of this band from Thuringia, independently published in bandcamp this year, originally released in June 2013. Ka-tet, the name of the band and some of their lyrical content pays homage to Stephen King literature. The term Ka-tet is borrowed from the eight-volume cycle The Dark Tower, meaning a community of beings pursuing the same goal. Their music is dark and atmospheric and some how melancholic.

Their sound is characterized by a melancholy mood with acoustic guitar parts gently increasing and building into intense melodic profundity up to furious outbursts of the 8-string guitar. The complex drums and deep bass emphasise this dark atmosphere. The vocals vary from deep growls to high screaming and whispering, which gives the voice a great dynamic. Their expressive texts pick up topics that deal primarily with the depths of human existence.

"Illustra Nos" by Weltschmerz

Killer traditional sound of the 90's blended with some modern and progressive elements, fast, raw and aggressive style with lyrics covering philosophical and existentialism themes.

Weltschmerz is a Dutch black metal band known for their ferocious live performances. The band was founded in 2009 releasing several demos and its first full-length album in 2014 entitled Odium Humani Generis through Immortal Frost Productions. The band has since then been taking Europe by storm with live appearances in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Denmark and Switzerland.

Their second full-length "Illustra Nos" came out on October 26, 2018 through Redefining Darkness Records, check it out.

"Járnviðr" by Utstøtt

Epic/Pagan Black Metal from US.

A duo from Portland that plays Viking and Epic Black Metal. They have released Járnviðr album through Celestial Oak Productions an album that explores the darker and lesser visited themes of ever-revered norse legends. The newest and darkest album from Utstøtt is written around the arcane and foreboding iron-gilded wood, Járnviðr.

This album was written from 2014-2016, and recorded over three years from 2015 to 2018, finally seeing release in October 2018.

An excellent album with tons of variation on the vocals, with the music being dark, brooding and menacing.. really sick stuff I recommend.

"Exitium" by Primaire

Raw Black Metal from Germany.

Primaire is a new formation of veterans from Bavaria (featuring members of Anencephaly, HateCult of the Cunt, Lower Than Zero, Ysbryd and Blutwald) who just unleashed this year their debut album "Exitium" on  2nd-October-2018. What first grabbed my attention was the great art-cover of the album created by Astaroth Cerebre and it didn't disappoint when I hit the play. Primaire plays traditional raw black metal, fierce and powerful with dynamic catchy riffs but also with excellent dark atmospheres and melodies the most elitists will approve off. Their themes are based on anti-religion, death and hate. The only negative is their tracks are perhaps a bit short but on the bright side it won't bore you and is what makes you crave for more!
